For Research Degree Candidates to request to:

  • change research topic

  • research code - FOE, FOR, SEO

  • both research topics and research code

Please note that a request to change topics will not generally be approved if it extends the maximum candidature beyond what was originally offered. It may instead by recommended the student reapply for admission. Students on a stipend may need to reapply for their stipend.

A change of topic does not generally extend your original milestone deadlines.

For international students, a change of topic may need to be approved by entities outside the University, depending on the topic.
